COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 24 hour tele-class with free 1 hour Pre-Recorded Introductory Lecture/Chat is built around Positive Psychology’s 24 Character Strengths as defined by the “Character Strengths and Virtues Handbook”. Its purpose is to introduce you to each Character Strength: what it looks like, what research tells us about it, how it shows up in you and others. The course comes with a journal, interventions and exercises for exploring the role strengths play out in your life. We will cover the consequences of overplaying and underplaying your strengths and how even you top strengths can get in your way and stop you getting what you want out of life. You will learn how to choose the best fit of strengths to support you goals and interventions to develop them.
For those who work in the field of human development this course will equip you with tools to work with what is right with people, rather than what is wrong with them. These tools will allow people to develop their strengths in alignment with their creative impulse/personal evolution. It works on the theory that if you are working from your strengths (what is good about you) you will be happy, motivated and purposeful.
INTENDED FOR: coaches, counselors, therapists, psychologists, teachers and allied health professionals, in fact anyone involved in any type of relationship or transformation work.
